Heart and Soul of Our Team: Alina Mayer-Virtanen

Alina Mayer-Virtanen is a Master of Science in Psychology and has an impressive background in figure skating. She skated for 24 years, representing Germany at various levels. During the final years of her skating career, Alina competed at the international level in single skating.

Since 2013, Alina has been coaching single skating. She started in Oberstdorf, Germany, and later extended her coaching expertise to Finland in 2017. For the past three years, she has lived full-time in Finland, where she currently serves as the head coach of Peurunka Skating Academy in Laukaa.

For the 2024-2025 season, Alina is one of the responsible coaches for the Middle-Finland and East Finland regions, contributing significantly to the development of young skating talent in these areas.
