Macias Judo Camp Tallinn 2026 with Tommy Macias
Train, learn and test your judo with former world-class competitor and international coach Tommy Macias at Macias Judo Camp Tallinn 2026, taking place from 29 October–1 November 2026 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The four-day international training camp welcomes a very broad range of judoka, from young athletes in the U8, U10, U12 and U14 categories through U16, U18, U21, Seniors and Veterans. To manage the different ages and physical levels, participants are separated into two principal training groups.
🥋 Group 1: U8, U10, U12 and U14
🥋 Group 2: U16, U18, U21, Seniors and Veterans
This makes the camp suitable for youth athletes, competitive teenagers, senior judoka and experienced veteran practitioners who want several days of concentrated judo training in an international environment.
The camp is led by Tommy Macias, a Swedish former world-level judoka whose competitive achievements include becoming European Champion, winning a World Championship silver medal, and earning a medal at the World Masters. His IJF record confirms a World Championship silver medal and European Championship title among numerous World Tour results.
Macias now works professionally within judo coaching and conducts training camps and seminars around Europe. The camp organizer describes his approach as viewing judo as a strategic game built around movement, reactions and decision-making, helping athletes understand situations and develop solutions rather than simply memorizing techniques.
The camp follows a practical training philosophy:
Learn it → practise it → use it.
Published event information states that each session begins with technical training and finishes with randori, allowing athletes first to understand the technical concept and then test it against resisting partners in live practice.
This format makes the camp particularly valuable for competitive judoka who want to connect technique with timing, movement, reactions and actual fighting situations.
Previous Macias camps in Tallinn have attracted athletes from countries including Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Latvia, giving the event an international training atmosphere and access to unfamiliar training partners.
The 2026 edition is also listed in the Finnish Judo Federation's event calendar as a Tallinn training camp, including in its U16 and U18 calendars.
Training takes place at the Kristiine Judokeskus at Sõjakooli 3 in Tallinn.
The official Estonian Sports Register describes the facility as a dedicated judo centre with approximately 450 m² of mat space, measuring around 30 × 15 metres, as well as a gym and other training areas.
This is also the venue used for major international grappling camps in Tallinn.
Accommodation is not included in the standard camp price, but the organizer explicitly says participants who need accommodation can contact them for assistance.
