The tennis calendar turns towards Shanghai this week, with the Rolex Shanghai Masters main draw scheduled for 10/07/2026–10/18/2026.
The ATP Masters 1000 tournament brings another major outdoor hard-court event to the autumn schedule. For young players watching at home, it is also an opportunity to notice the details behind each point: preparation, movement, shot selection and recovery between rallies.
If that inspires a new training goal, October offers opportunities to spend focused time on court. TopSportsCamps.com currently lists three later-October sessions of the Mouratoglou Academy Youth Tennis Intensive Camp in Biot, France.
Turn match-watching into a training question
During a match, try following one aspect of play rather than only the score.
How does a player recover after being pulled wide? Where do they stand to return serve? When do they choose a safer shot to stay in the rally?
Bring those observations to a coach and discuss which are relevant to your own level. A useful goal might be improving recovery footwork, developing a more dependable second serve or choosing clearer targets.
The aim is to find something specific to practice, with feedback that helps you understand your progress.
Three October camp weeks to explore
The following sessions are listed for ages 10–18 at Mouratoglou Academy, 3550 Route des Dolines, Biot, France.
The programme is described as intensive junior training with personalized coaching in a competitive environment. Confirm suitability for your child’s current experience directly with the organizer.
10/12/2026–10/17/2026 — From €1,450
The first of our featured weeks offers a six-day date window in mid-October for families considering a focused tennis trip.

Choose the programme around the player
Before registering, ask how participants are grouped, how much tennis is scheduled each day and what feedback players receive.
Clarify whether accommodation, meals, supervision and transfers are included in the selected package. A starting price alone does not explain the full trip cost.
For an intensive programme, discuss how the workload fits the player’s usual training and upcoming matches. Arriving with one or two realistic goals can give the week a useful focus.
Keep the inspiration going
Shanghai will provide plenty of tennis to watch in the coming days. Your own next step could be a conversation with a coach, a purposeful practice session or a camp that matches your goals.
