The Finnhockey School camps

The Finnhockey School camps are ice hockey camps open to all girls and boys between the ages of 10 and 16 who play hockey as a player or as a goaltender.

This camp is unique as it includes three lectures on the psychological side of sports. Participants will cover a variety of topics including game preparation, sleep and nutrition, and growth mindset.

All activities at the camps are guided with the values of youth exercise and sports, to ensure proper growth & skill development. The children experience a lot of fun, while still improving their technical and tactical skills. The focus of training is skating, goal scoring and game perception, which are trained through games – always considering the skill level of the participants. At the camps, there are three coaches who are responsible for high-quality coaching & safety of the children.

At Finnhockey School we put great emphasis on balance and improving it as it’s a highly important physical quality that is one of the key cornerstones of basic motor skills as well as sports-specific skills. Ice hockey is no exception here. Skating, shooting, stickhandling, and other technical skills are dependent on how well an individual is expressing stability on the ice. Here at Finnhockey School we are placing a large emphasis on the development of balance skills on and off the ice.

The Finnhockey School camps are organized in cooperation with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association and the International Hockey Center of Excellence in Vierumäki. The themes and content of the camps correspond to the Finnish Ice Hockey Association’s Leijona-polku (the Lion path) program. Each camp has a different theme to help the children with development of a specific skill.

Participants additional information form will be opened during April for the summer camps. Those registered for the camp will receive information about the form by e-mail.
