Alina Mayer-Virtanen is a Master of Science in Psychology. She has been skating for 24 years, during which she represented Germany. In the final years of her skating career, she competed at the international level in single skating.
Since 2013, Alina has been coaching single skating, initially in Oberstdorf, Germany, and later in Finland starting from 2017. For the past three years, she has been living full-time in Finland and coaching. She is currently the Head Coach of Peurunka Skating Academy in Laukaa.
For the 2024–2025 season, Alina will be one of the lead coaches responsible for the Middle-Finland and East Finland areas, continuing to inspire and develop the next generation of figure skaters in these regions.
