Portsmouth Eurocamp Basketball Camp 2027
Develop your game through a full week of intensive basketball training at Portsmouth Eurocamp 2027, taking place from 1โ6 August 2027 at the University of Portsmouth.
The camp welcomes male and female players aged 10โ23, from complete beginners through to international-level athletes. Players are assessed at the start of camp and placed into suitable development or advanced groups, with smaller coaching groups organized according to ability. The camp can accommodate up to 96 residential and non-residential participants.
Eurocamp follows a European-style basketball philosophy based on strong fundamentals, tough defence, fast-break basketball and mid- to long-range shooting. The emphasis is on serious improvement rather than a holiday-style camp, with intensive hour-long themed sessions where players remain actively involved throughout training.
On the main training days, players complete three one-hour coaching sessions, followed by team training and competitive championship games. Sessions cover a variety of basketball topics and are designed to progressively develop individual skills, game understanding and team play.
Training and competition can include:
๐ Fundamental basketball skills
๐ Shooting development
๐ Ball handling
๐ Passing
๐ Defensive technique
๐ Fast-break basketball
๐ Team offence and defence
๐ Position and tactical development
๐ Championship team training
๐ Competitive games
The camp also features a wide variety of competitive events, including 1-on-1 competitions, 3-on-3 basketball, three-point shooting contests, dunk competitions, All-Star games and championship finals. Special games such as Staff vs Campers and international-style matchups may also be included.
Players are assessed through opening scrimmages before being assigned to training groups and championship teams. During the week, campers combine technical coaching with regular competitive games, giving them opportunities to apply new skills under real match pressure.
The final stages of camp include championship games, All-Star activities, individual competitions, awards and a 3-on-3 tournament before camp closes on Friday.
Both residential and day-camp participation are available. Residential players stay in single en-suite rooms at Rees Hall, part of the University of Portsmouth. Meals are provided through the University catering service, and overnight staff and CCTV security are in place throughout the residential program.
Portsmouth Eurocamp is designed for motivated players who want a demanding week of basketball, high training volume, competitive games and coaching in an international camp atmosphere
