This 8-day international football program takes place from 13–20 December 2026 at the Benfica Campus in Seixal, Portugal, together with tournament activities in the Lisbon region. It is organized directly by Sport Lisboa e Benfica for boys’ and girls’ teams in the U11–U19 categories.
The Winter Edition gives youth clubs and academies the opportunity to experience the daily environment of Benfica’s player-development system. This is a team-only program: individual players must participate through their club or academy, and the team’s registration is reviewed by SL Benfica’s Technical Coordination.
Players begin the experience with intensive training sessions at Benfica Campus under qualified SL Benfica coaches. Sessions follow Benfica’s football methodology and focus on technical quality, tactical understanding, decision-making, team organization, competitive mentality and collective performance.
The program is designed to challenge players in a professional-style environment while also allowing visiting coaches to work closely with Benfica staff. Players experience the expectations and routines associated with high-performance youth football while developing as individuals and as a team.
After the training and preparation phase, participants move into international competition through a youth tournament in the Lisbon region, such as the Lisbon Youth Cup or IberCup. Benfica coaches remain involved during the competitive part of the experience and coordinate with each visiting team’s coaching staff.
The residential package includes full-board accommodation, official Benfica training sessions, tournament participation, an official SL Benfica training kit and backpack, hotel-to-campus transfers, sports and health insurance, player evaluations and a participation certificate.
Meals are prepared according to recommendations from Benfica’s Nutrition Department, helping participants understand the importance of recovery and nutrition within a professional football environment.
Teams also visit the iconic Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, adding a cultural and club-history element to the week.
With a dedicated team supervisor available 24 hours a day, the Winter Edition offers international youth teams a complete combination of elite training, competition, accommodation, nutrition, supervision and Benfica club experience.
