Become a smarter, faster, and more effective defenceman at Swetec Hockey Back Skills HLM Camp 2026.
This 1-day ice hockey camp takes place on 25 October 2026 at Österås Ishall in Hässleholm, Sweden. The camp is designed for players who play as defencemen / backs, or players who want to develop defenceman-specific skills and improve how they act in game situations.
The camp is not a normal hockey school. Swetec Hockey clearly describes this as a focused performance camp for experienced and highly motivated players who are ready to train with discipline, concentration, and responsibility. Players are expected to arrive prepared, follow the schedule, communicate clearly, and stay focused on development.
The training focuses on technical skating, mobility on skates, movement patterns, defenceman actions in the defensive zone, quicker decision-making, and game-relevant reactions. A key goal of the camp is to help players become faster in the mind, meaning they learn to read situations earlier, react quicker, and make better decisions under pressure.
Players receive 3 on-ice sessions, each lasting 75 minutes. The camp also includes testing and measurement elements such as skating time tests and light-reaction exercises. These elements help players understand their current level and give them a more performance-focused training experience.
The final ice session also includes shooting training, making the camp useful for defencemen who want to improve both defensive-zone actions and offensive contribution from the blue line.
The camp is led by Dag Wenström, Swetec Hockey’s head instructor. The page describes him as an experienced hockey instructor with more than 20 years of coaching experience and work with players from youth level up to NHL-level environments.
Food and accommodation are not included, so players should bring their own food, snacks, and drinks for the day.
