The camp is designed for young players from Under 7 to Under 12 and welcomes both experienced junior rugby players and children who are just starting out. Across the three days, participants train with Blues Foundation community coaches and professional players, combining rugby development with fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
The program follows the Blues Foundation’s whole-rugby approach, helping players improve technical skills, teamwork, confidence and decision-making through structured coaching and game-based activities.
Training can include:
✅ Passing and receiving
✅ Ball handling
✅ Running with the ball
✅ Evasion and movement
✅ Attacking skills
✅ Defensive awareness
✅ Teamwork and communication
✅ Decision-making
✅ Small-sided games
✅ Match-based activities
✅ Confidence and individual development
Players are grouped as appropriately as possible according to age, with coaches focusing on each child’s individual development and helping them continue progressing into the next rugby season.
The camp runs from 10:00–15:00 each day at Goldington Road, the home of Bedford Blues. The environment combines professional-club surroundings with an inclusive community-coaching approach, creating an enjoyable setting for young players to improve and stay active during the school holidays.
