Max Ivanov & IH PRO Elite Ice Hockey Camp Zurich 2026
Take your skating, puck control and game understanding to another level at the Max Ivanov & IH PRO Elite Ice Hockey Camp, taking place from 5β10 October 2026 in Wetzikon, in the Zurich region of Switzerland.
The camp is an International Elite Development Camp organized by Ice Hockey Pro and led by Maxim Ivanov together with the international IH PRO coaching team. The official eligibility range covers players born from 2002 through 2020, creating opportunities for both young developing players and older competitive athletes to train within the IH PRO development system.
The central focus of the program is power skating, speed, puck skills, decision-making and game understanding. Rather than concentrating only on isolated drills, IH PRO combines technical training with tactical situations, off-ice preparation, video work and game-based application.
The organizer lists a demanding daily program featuring:
π Two on-ice practices per day
πͺ Dryland training
πΉ Video lessons and hockey theory
π IH PRO Cup game activities
On the ice, athletes work on skating efficiency, acceleration, balance, puck handling and movement in small spaces. Sessions are designed to help players become faster and more controlled while also developing the ability to apply those skills under game pressure.
A major focus of the camp is power skating.
Players can work on:
β
Explosive skating
β
Faster starts from a stationary position
β
Acceleration
β
Balance and body control
β
Maintaining speed under physical pressure
β
Turns and stops in tight areas
β
Power skating with resistance
β
Power skating with the puck
β
Agility and maneuverability
The aim is not only straight-line speed but the ability to accelerate, stop, change direction and maintain control during realistic hockey situations.
IH PRO also places substantial emphasis on puck control.
Training includes areas such as:
π Fast stickhandling
π Hand positioning
π Wide dribbling movements
π Puck control at speed
π Decision-making with the puck
π Shooting
π Combining skating and puck handling
Players are challenged to perform skills while moving quickly and responding to changing situations rather than practising only stationary technique.
The camp is led by Maxim Ivanov, a specialist in power skating and hockey skills development.
Ice Hockey Pro lists Ivanov's coaching rΓ©sumΓ© as including Stanley Cup-winning staff roles with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017 and the Florida Panthers in 2024 and 2025, as well as the 2021 KHL Gagarin Cup with Avangard Omsk. The organizer currently describes him as a skills-development coach working with the Florida Panthers and Avangard Omsk.
IH PRO says Ivanov has spent more than 15 years participating in or organizing elite camps internationally and has worked with players from leagues including the NHL, KHL, SHL and Finland's top professional hockey level.
